General Maintenance of Brakes

Proper maintenance of a big brake kit is crucial to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Here are some tips for maintaining your big brake kit:

  1. Regularly inspect your brake pads, rotors, and calipers for wear and damage. Replace any worn or damaged components immediately.

  2. Keep your brake components clean and free of dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft-bristled brush and non-acidic wheel cleaner to clean your brake components. (Refer to our cleaning page)

  3. Check your brake fluid levels regularly and top off as needed. Replace your brake fluid according to your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.

  4. If you notice any issues with your braking performance, have your brake system inspected by a professional mechanic.

SOUND INSPECTION

It is important to inspect your brakes if there is unusual sounds because it could be a sign of a problem with the braking system. If you hear grinding or squealing sounds, ignoring these sounds could lead to further damage to your braking system and ultimately compromise your safety on the road.

BRAKE SYSTEM WARNINGS

This light typically appears on your dashboard and indicates a problem with your brake system. It could be caused by low brake fluid levels, worn brake pads(false alarm possibility), or a malfunctioning brake system component such as ABS Sensor.
